Emergency Preparedness
You need to play a very important part in getting yourself, your family, and your community ready for a public health emergency. Public health departments across the state are urging Missouri residents to be prepared for emergencies.

Goal: Gather enough supplies to last at least 2 weeks.
Drinking water - need at least 1 gallon per person per day, store extra
water for pets.
Nonperishable foods - Choose items that are easy to prepare and do not
need to be refrigerated such as: canned soup, fruit & vegetables; cereal and
protein bars; peanut butter; crackers; baby food and formula if needed; do
not forget your pets, have extra food and supplies on hand for them also.
Medical essentials: Over-the-counter medicines for fever or pain, such as
acetaminophen or ibuprofen; extra prescription medications, talk to your
healthcare provider; protective masks and gloves, single use , disposable;
thermometer; first-aide kit
Personal supplies: Toilet paper, facial tissue, paper towels; feminine
hygiene products; dental supplies; pencil, notebook, board games,
magazines; disposable diapers and other baby supplies, if needed
Household goods: Flashlight; manual can opener; soap; alcohol hand
sanitizer, whistle; blankets; garbage bags with ties; spare batteries/hearing
aide battery if needed; disinfectant bleach/water; candles and matches;
portable radio.
